Crush Sleeve for rebuilding the Toyota 8” Rear & 8” High Pinion Differentials with or without E-Locker
Any time you loosen or remove the pinion nut, thereby releasing tension the crush sleeve, a new one must be put in to place to ensure the correct torque setting (and tension) on the pinion nut.
If you’re replacing the pinion seal, then you must also replace the crush sleeve and be very careful to set the correct pinion pre-load.
oo much pre-load, which is easy to do, will cause premature failure of the pinion bearings.
