Brake springs and hardware should be replaced when replacing your brake shoes.
Also, check your wheel cylinders for early signs of leakage by pulling back the piston boot to check for fluid accumulation. If your wheel cylinders are leaking, or showing signs of leaking, replace them when doing your brake shoe replacement.
Note: when working on brakes, the dust is a hazard to respiratory health even though it is asbestos free. Wear an appropriate respirator and use a wet method when cleaning the brake shoes, drums and related parts.
