24V 40A Land Cruiser Alternator for Toyota Land Cruiser

Externally regulated alternator, intended as a replacement for various Land Cruiser models such as the  HJ60, HJ61.

The installation can be altered so that it will fit on 3B, 13BT engines (some notes below).

Has the vacuum pump attached to the backside, which is the larger volume version.

Note 1: Does not ship with a pulley, you will need to re-use your old pulley. The shaft is 17mm in diameter, and this is common to almost all Toyota alternators with the vacuum pump found on BJ and HJ series Land Cruisers

Note 2: There are a few exceptions in some later models where the shaft diameter is larger and there is a short section of spline (that I have so far noted only in one JDM HJ61). This later style pulley will not fit, and you will need to find a used pulley to work with this alternator.

40A output is considerably more than a BJ42 which was 20A, and most HJ61s with externally regulated units which were 30A. The internally regulated alternators on JDM spec HJ61s were 40A.

Note 3: Check your alternator output wire size; if you are upgrading your alternator output, then the alternator wiring must also be upgraded to handle the increased output. The wire should be minimum 10 AWG and preferably 8 AWG to the batteries.

Fitment 2H & 12HT: This is designed as a bolt up for the H, 2H and 12HT. You will have to reuse your current alternator pulley. If you are going to be installing this unit in a vehicle that came equipped with an internal voltage regulator, you will have to have an auto electrical shop install an external voltage regulator for you to make this work properly.

Fitment B, 3B & 13BT:To fit this to a B series engine (B, 3B, 13BT etc.) a few things need to happen: a new belt will may to be figured obtained due to belt length change, the mounting legs at the bottom is longer so a longer 10mm bolt and a spacer along the shank of the bolt to take up the extra room will need to be fitted. You will have to reuse your old pulley, and the ends of the oil feed and other vacuum and oil fittings may need to be adapted.
