Note: Some modifications are required to make this alternator fit later 3B and 13BT engines due to a different mounting configuration. You will need a longer pivot bolt and some spacers or washers for the longer bolt to take up the extra space between the mounting feet.

Install a new belt when you are putting this alternator into service. This unit has much greater output than the stock alternator, and an old belt is likely to not work very well with this more powerful unit.
Note: Ensure your batteries are fully charged and in good condition OR replaced with new units before hooking up this new alternator.
Weak or dead batteries is the No. 1 killer of alternators.
If you kill your new alternator by connecting it incorrectly, or to weak or dead batteries, there will be no warranty (yes, we can tell if you have done this upon inspection!). Disconnect your battery grounds before installing this new alternator.
