This is a general kit that covers most applications, and is very handy to have when working on you air conditioning system.

This kit contains 2 Standard and 2 JRA style A/C system cores, and 3 different types of caps for old style R12 systems as well as 2 common sizes for R134a systems.
Note 1: AC service valves can be replaced without discharging the refrigerant from the AC system if you obtain the correct tools, otherwise the best time to replace valves is pro-avtively when working on the system during repair and prior to recharging.
The Mastercool 81490 (for R134a) is an example of such a tool, and there are different tools for different valve types.
Note2 : Venting AC system refrigerants to the atmosphere is illegal. Here are the laws for USA & Canada.
AC Systems must be properly drained of any refrigerant using a refrigerant recovery system prior to servicing the system. AC refrigerants may be ozone depleting, greenhouse gases, or both depending on what is in your system.
Venting gases to the atmosphere can also be dangerous due to the high pressure of the gaseous state. It is also possible to cause potentially serious cold burns if you come into contact with gas when it escapes under high pressure.
