Toyota valve adjustment tool

This tool is used to remove and replace valve shims from Toyota engines such as the 1HZ, 1HDT, 2LT-II, 2LTE, 3L, 1KZ, 1KZT, 1KZTE and related.

You will also require: a metric micrometer and a complete set of metric feeler gauges.

Note 1: Do not use a vernier caliper to measure your shims as it will not be accurate enough. You need to have a proper micrometer and measure at the center of the valve shim.
Note 2: Your engine must me allowed to cool completely stone cold to the touch - typically allow 24 hours - to get a reliable valve clearance measurement.

This tool is a good quality copy of the much more expensive Toyota Tool (compare at prices ranging from $125 to $200 USD). I have tested this tool in my workshop on a 1HDT and it works well.

The only real difference between this and the actual Toyota tool is this one has a little more play in the threads, and the mechanism when unloaded is a little looser.

For the home-user or professional user who is not going to be using this tool day in and day out, this is a great option.
