Short splined drive flange for the early Birfield CV Axles - we strongly recommend you upgrade to the later, longer splined flanges and birfields.
NB: when replacing your old birfields, it is always a good idea as well as the proper procedure to also replace the drive flange.
Any wear at the interface between the splined stub of the birfield and the drive flange will accelerate the wear greatly if only one of the two parts is replaced - so, always replace the birfield and the drive flanges as a pair at the same time if your parts have been in use for some time.
