As a result of multiple damage claims in 2021, the cost of full replacement insurance is being added to the price of each alternator we sell.

Seriously, take the time to read this stuff.
Note 1: this is a high output alternator. It is strongly recommended that the alternator to battery wiring be upgraded to at least 8ga and preferably 6ga finely stranded copper wire and protected with an appropriately sized fusible link.
Fusible links are typically sized 4 wire gauge sizes smaller than the wire they are protecting (eg: an 8ga wire is protected with a 12ga/3.0mm fusible link, and the section of link should be about 4" or 10cm in length).
**Note 2: this alternator has a larger case size than the stock alternator, and the alternator adjusting bar must be upgraded to 16381-17020 that is listed here otherwise you may have difficulty fitting it into place.
Note 3: This alternator is equipped with the later style oval socket on the rear. Earlier alternators with the round socket are going to need the harness updated for the oval plug. There is an alternator harness adapter required if you have the earlier round plug on your wiring harness.
Note 4: Ensure your batteries are fully charged and in good condition OR replaced with new units before hooking up this new alternator. Weak or dead batteries will kill your new alternator.
• Make sure your battery terminals and connections are in excellent condition. Ensure your frame and engine block ground points are clean and tight. High quality battery terminals are recommended.
• Most JDMs arrive with ancient, low performing batteries still in place - the vast majority of these are junk. We recommend you install two new high quality group 27 (or larger) batteries in their place.
