08/1988 - 07/1997 The later series L family of engines can be identified as they have the ‘bucket and shim’ system for adjusting the valves, and not rockers or roller rockers. They also have stamped steel valve covers, and the early engines had cast aluminum valve covers.
Important note: It has been brought to my attention that the toothed timing idler (guide) pulley bolt 90105-10235) is sometimes subject to breakage (probably from age, metal fatigue, improper torque) and I would strongly advise that it gets replaced when you are changing the timing components/belt. There are some bolts contained in the kit, but not this one.
Service note: When replacing the timing components, it is also worth replacing the water pump at the same time. The water pump lifespan is only somewhat longer than the timing components, and the timing components need to be removed to replace the water pump...
